How to install and use the Turnpike program

Before installing *PLEASE* backup your TURNPIKE directory and all sub-directories.

Download Turnpike Six v6.07 from entire.exe (12.1 MB or 12,751,439 bytes). This is the entire download, including Turnpike Six, the Quick Start Guide and the User Manual.

To install Turnpike Six run the .exe you have just downloaded - before which you will have backed up your current Turnpike.

Documentation

The Turnpike Quick Start Guide takes you step by step through the general functions of Turnpike. Turnpike also has a detailed user manual. Access to the Quick Start Guide and the user manual is from the Turnpike Help menu. However, you may read the documentation without downloading the program by selecting one or more of the following : -

manual.zip (The User Manual - 5,299,698 bytes) Note that if you download the User Manual separately from Turnpike Six there will be no link to it in the Start Menu.

qsguide.zip (The Quick Start Guide - 474,588 bytes)

announce.txt (The Announcement - including full details of changes contained in the latest release).

Upgrading from Turnpike 5 to Turnpike Six

Turnpike Six's database files are not backwards compatible with Turnpike version 5 (and earlier) database files. The only way to revert, if necessary, is to restore from the backup you should make before the upgrade. To revert to your backup, please see the readme file installed as part of this latest version of Turnpike.

There is no longer a need for a separate multi-user installer as there was in Turnpike version 5. The installer is able to install just the offline part of Turnpike on the workstation computers.
